Joan has always been creative in arts and crafts. She enjoys such hobbies as growing her own herbs and creating unique and beautiful wreaths. Her true talent however was discovered in 1980, the first time she picked up a paint-brush.
She is a wildlife artist who takes the media of watercolors to a higher level with extraordinary detail and precision. Although she has painted many different subjects, she is renowned for her paintings of sheep. She enjoys working from her own photographs which she takes as she spends countless hours in the fields observing them. She has said that watching these precious lambs interacting with their mothers and each other is a unique experience, almost a sacred time when she feels at one with God, a concept that clearly comes through when you view one of her paintings.
