A love of the outdoors is the first impression given in the watercolors of the artist, Mike Bick. Whether it is a rustic farmhouse, barn or an intricately detailed waterfowl, Mike's watercolors instill a sense of light and emotion like no other.

Mike was born and raised in Hillsboro, Ohio. Early in his life he developed a love for the outdoors. To pursue this love and to develop his talent, he attended Southern State Community College and Morehead State University where he earned his masters degree in studio art. His original watercolor paintings have been widely accepted through private sales and commission work.

Mike's stoneware, sponge ware pottery reminds one of early colonial pottery. All of Mike's pots are microwave, dishwasher, and oven safe. His pottery features kitchenware with an emphasis on bowls. His latest creations bare a new “ash” glaze that gives his pottery a whole new look.

He currently works for the Eastern Local School District as a principal for Sardinia Elementary and is a member of the Artisans Guild. Mike's artwork can be purchased at the Appalachian Gateway Center Gift Shop at Southern State Community College, or by appointment at his home. Please contact Mike if you are interested in commissioned artwork.
